My Self-Portrait

We have been working on Self Portraits in class. We had to follow some steps about where to put our facial features on a you tube video.  To colour in our portraits we sketched it first in pencil and then coloured it in with oil pastels.  We got our inspiration from a famous Mexican artist called Frida Kahlo, (who I have written about in a recent post).

  1. Great self-portrait, Ella. I especially like the way you coloured the eyes; the highlight on the black pupil makes your eyes come to life. I also like the very bright, solid colours in the background. The map of New Zealand in the sky is very well done - and you've also
    included Stewart Island.

    1. Hello Mrs Idle
Thank you for the positive comment. I tried to make my picture bright and colourful so it would stand out more, the same with my eyes. It's good that you have noticed I have included Stewart Island!
